Toronto-based Hédi Bouraoui joined the Faculty of English at York University in 1966. He is an author of poems, novels, short stories, tales and essays and is Writer in Residence for the Department of French Studies at York University’s Stong College. He holds an honorary doctorate from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, in recognition of his contributions to Canadian and world literature. In 2018, he was named a member of the Order of Canada.
