Winton received her BA from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, where she studied illustration, (drawing) painting and printmaking. From 2004 to 2022, she was an Associate Professor teaching painting and printmaking at Queen's University Department of Art, Kingston, ON. She is currently living and working in Gananoque, ON.
