Geneviève Cadieux received her BA in Visual Arts from the University of Ottawa. She is a photographer, though she incorporates audiovisual elements into her installations, and has been exhibiting her work internationally since the 1980s. Cadieux is the recipient of many awards, including the 2011 Governor General’s Award for Visual and Media Arts, and the 2018 Prix Paul-Émile-Borduas. Cadieux now works as an associate professor in the Studio Arts Department at Concordia University.
